restaurants nearby LinHe Road - Guangzhou

Travelling to Guangzhou with some fun & casual work colleagues for some work related meetings. We are searching for two restaurants nearby the LinHe Road or not too far. One shall serve local Chinese delicacies and the other western food. Any thoughts? Please forward telephone no's or the restaurants' e-mails as we will probably need to make a reservation (group of 20pax).

You must try Lei Garden Restaurant on 2nd floor of Bai Fu Plaza, East Ti Yu Road (tel : 20-38806788). Both service and food are perfect.

CITIC Plaza has Nicos and Tribe and IKEA has a nice cafe!
There is a good Shanghai restaurant also in CITIC Plaza.

Where will you be on Lin He Road? Inside Center Plaza by the East train station there is a restaurant on the 6th floor that has an extensive buffet for about 70 - 78 RMB per person, casual atmosphere with a large variety of food. I think it's called Ocean Avenue. I think the Italian restaurant Mama Mia is on Lin He Xi Lu. It has particularly good meat lasagna but 20 people would be about half their seating capacity and tables just seat 4 - 6. My favorite Sichuan restaurant (so far) is on the 4th floor of the building on the south-east corner of the intersection of Tian He Bei Lu and Ti Yu Xi Lu (not too far). I think they have a private room that might accomodate 20. My friend from Shanghai likes the Shanghai restaurant in Citic.

Oh, I finally went to that restaurant (above) with the extensive buffet. It is "Australian" theme. The price is quite reasonable for what you get, because there are a lot of options, but the food is "localized" and there are so many better places to choose from that I don't recommend this one.

We tried Olives at the end of Tian He Bei Lu (just near Guangzhou Dada) last Saturday night.

Great Italian food and very cheap
