Posted by new30580 (695 days ago)
I know few. I rder vegetables and rice, every time I am in Chinese restaurant. I like Hunan and Sichuan food too. Please tell me about what to order, to increase my choice in chinese food.
For me vegetarian means, no meat, no fish or sea food, no Egg.

If you are a strict religious vegetarian, you shouldn't trust Chinese kitchens to provide full vegetatian meals. There is a high chance your prepared vegetables will have come in contact with meat or meat products. It takes a vilgilant kitchen to provide true vegetarian cuisine.

I have seen some strict Chinese vegetarian restaurants in shanghai, around Budhist temples.

Can you speak Chinese? Every item in this Buddhist restaurant is vegan. I don't have a Pinyin name, I think it would be Fau You Yuan. WIthin an easy 5 min walk, west of Chen Family Temple. The phone number is 8125 0428, and the owner speaks some English, so call them for directions. There are also two vegetarian restaurants just beside the 7 Banyan tree temple. One is on the second floor to the right if you are facing the temple from the street. The other is on the left.

Not 7 Banyan tree temple or 6 Banyan tree temple. I think you are referring to Guang Xiao Temple, the largest temple in Guangzhou city central.

Oh, sorry, I really should look up the name, the old one with the pagoda!

The first one MianFei refers to is also enjoyed by me, Meiguoren and by many of my friends. It's not cheap, but everything is incredibly delicious!
It's mentioned in thatsprd I think too.
