Satellite TV in Guangzhou
Posted by mandrookie (233 days ago)
I have satellite TV getting all of the Philipino channels and also, luckly, BEN SPORTS.
Lately a note has showed up in some channels warning that by the 1st of March, fake boxes will no longer work as they are changing their systems.
Does anyone have an idea on whether or not this will happen? Is there already a solution out there in case it does happen? will it be simply to change the IC card?
Cheers

I think what we can do is only waiting for they change. One high level suppiler told me don`t worry.

How to get BEN SPORTS???? CNBC is blocked too... any solutions out there?

Hi the new system for Dream TV will make the old system redundant. I have just signed up for a new card and new box that are original. The new level of encryption involves a serial matched card to the box. The card even if copied will not work in any other boxes. This system is genuine and does not involve copy cards and the hassle of replacement cards. I had the system fully functioning when all the channels were switched off last weekend. I believe the sport and English channels will go down again all this week.
I know you can get the boxes legitimately by contact guilosatellite@gmail.com

Can you say how much the box and the card cost, and also does the card cover all Dream channels or only some?
I noted things were out for a while Sunday morning. Then caught a calendar for the month of May posted on one channel that said there would be two to three hours outages during the month of May. So if you hadn't upgraded to a new box, all programming would be blocked from 7 to 9 pm one day, 8 to 10 am another day.
The effect will be maddening!

Posted by Kmom (167 days ago)
i think it includes Disney..
we called David the other day but unfortunately, the direction our apartment is facing is not suitable for satellite signal reception... so no deal for us
we've been told it is RMB3500 a year for the box and inclusive of subscription for that year i believe

yes there is disney in Thai-UBC satellite. But it needs a large dish and south-west direction in Guangzhou. pls pm me.
Posted by Satellite TV (149 days ago)
Actually all the UBC Thai Channels and DSTV are available through internet streaming for those that do not have access or positioning for a 150cm dish. While some installers say you can get away with a 120cm dish when the monsoonal rains come you will have drop outs.
You can contact guilosatellite@gmail.com.
The new legitimate dream System is available as well as the complete UBC Thai package including all Disney (Disney, Disney Playhouse) and Discovery channels the entire premier league and HBO package channels.

The Thai Satellite needs a large dish---but not necessaryly 120cm. In Guangzhou 90cm dish can get good signal even in rainy weather. Make sure you are using good quality antena, cable and LNB.
Posted by TV Satellite (93 days ago)
I strongly recommend the larger dish as with the heavy rains and electrical storms 90cm will drop out and that is from experience. I am using high grade cable and a good lnb and my signals (strength and quality are 70%) This is not achievable on a smaller dish. ALso on the dream package I am aware that DW and Australia Network are now broadcasting only on the new encryption system.
Other channels like HBO and Discovery could be next. Maybe the cartoon channels too. Who really knows these things? May be I do
Soon it goes all off. Later than planned but not too long.
If you have an original Box no problem all channels available. If you are not sure feel free to PM me for information.

In theory I agree with you. Everyone know the larger dish can get better signal. In practical, many people live in apartment don`t have a large enough place to put a so large dish. Not everybody can put his dish on the roof of the building. we successfully got the signal of Thai with a 75cm dish in Guangzhou. 90cm dish can get good signal even in normal rainy weather. But most of the time we use 100cm dish. If you have a house with your private roof or garden sure you can choose ANY size of the dish. :)
For Dream`s security systerm upgrading, I think even the manager of Dream can not give us a schedule. most people are waiting the pirate systerm totally DIE. maybe it can last several months.

I have it from a very reliable source that more channels will be off very soon!

RE: gzexpert
If you are using the “Bolt” satellite system, (which includes all the normally available movie and sports stations. And most importantly Eurosport for football and the Australia Network which covers the rugby union matches especially the Super 14 & the Tri-Nations), I believe by replacing your small 90cm dish with a large, 160 or 180? dish your problems will be sorted, including the inscription of AUS Net. For the cost involved and if you have the space maybe it’ll be worth a try. I’ve been told this by a friend who is WHATCHING THE TRI NATIONS GAMES> unfortunately he lives to far from GZ for me the watch as well. *&%$#. Apparently it has something to do with frequencies but I’m not sure.

Hey, by the way, I thought all satellite TV was “illegal” in China???
Posted by gzexpert (77 days ago)
To dennismychina:Yes it is illegal in China if you don`t have the permission from the government.
you can get the australia network with a 160 or 180cm dish in Guangzhou. if you like the sports channel I suggest you install the South Africa DSTV.
Posted by TV Satellite (74 days ago)
Actually if you have the original legitimate box for the Phillipines Australia network is available off the small dish, including the encrypted sports on Australia network.
PM if you need detaills. If considering the Thai Or south African DSTV on a large dish make sure you have access to the whole package.
When I first had the Thai system installed they could offer me only the Gold package. I can get the whole platinum package including all channels for sport, premier league, Disney and HBO. Check this carefully because to my knowledge there are very few who can provide the package.
Posted by gzexpert (73 days ago)
There are two ways to get the Thai. You can use the original card or use the internet SHARE. The original card is expensive in Guangzhou. Most people are using internet to SHARE the card.
If you choose the internet, make sure the account is first-hand. Some installer give you the second-hand account, when you change the channels it take too long time.
GZ SATELLITE TV provide First-Hand Account, and Platinum Package. (Call David 13794328216 if you need more info) also provide the legitimate DREAM TV.
